But it seems in this case that the uranium found at the site was not DU, but rather processed uranium that could have been fuel to be loaded into a reactor. To quote the WP today: "Some nuclear reactors, such as the Yongbyon reactor built by North Korea, use a form of processed uranium that has not been artificially enriched."Andrew J. Sounds alarmingly like the WMD excuse for attacking Iraq. Perhaps the IAEA should instead visit Iraq and test the level of uranim and radioactive materials in the air, as well as check out the terrible effects on those that have inhaled this deadly chemical, both Iraqis and U.S. soldiers. The U.S. has been using D.U. weapons in Afghanistan and Iraq and it's ghastly, horrendous results are there for the whole world to see. Here is a link for an article on D.U. and it's effects: http://www.wagingpeace.org/articles/2004/08/06_bollyn_real-dirty-bombs.htm
To turn a blind eye to the pain and sufferning of those babies in Iraq born with dreadful birth deformities / cancer should be seen as an international outrage.
It's incredible that any nation would be allowed to get away with such an act, and then openly deny that d.u. has any health hazards!
In that case it may be an idea to invite some nuke loving U.S. senators to come and have a holiday in Iraq with their families and children.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17727329353443197279noreply@blogger.com
